Globalista has a guide to Charleston but in the light of this trip we will be updating our recommendations.

One of our favourite Globalista correspondents Simon Lowe is just back from California. Here's his itinerary from San Francisco to Los Angeles.
What sets Parrot Cay apart from other holiday resorts I’ve been to is the down-to-earth, cool, chilled vibe, as well as the natural beauty of the island and water.

Grenada, the Spice Island of the Caribbean, has had a chequered history since Christopher Columbus discovered her verdant shores in 1498. When Hurricane Ivan struck in 2004, it devastated 90% of the island's nutmeg and cocoa plantations, and destroyed homes. On the other hand, it's a grungy multi-cultural destination with vibrant nightlife, chic boutiques and a restaurant scene. If you're not familiar with the American South, Charleston is an ideal place to start.
Getting there: Harbour Island is a new Globalista destination. Reached either by flying directly from Miami or Fort Lauderdale to North Eleuthera or via Nassau to North Eleuthera and then a 10 minute boat ride to the Island, it's...

Even in quiet times Washington D.C. receives more than its share of press coverage. But to those who know it, D.C. is more than just a platform for national and international debate and the seat of the American government. It is one of the country's great cultural hubs, well represented in art, music and food. As one of America's great university cities it bursts at the seams with youthful energy. It is characterised by grand boulevards, tree-lined roundabouts and an eclectic mix of architectural styles.
A hint of Paris without crossing the Atlantic is the way many North Americans regard Montreal, which was founded as a French colony in 1642 and retains the charm of that culture in the cobblestone streets of its old quarter, its...
