Santa Fe

With its mix of eccentric artists, well-heeled residents and Native American, Southwestern and Spanish influences, Santa Fe is a strange and beautiful city. Nestling in the Sangre de Cristo mountain range, this desert destination, dubbed 'The City Different', is a haven for art, food, culture and outdoor lovers. And while it is extremely casual, with few luxury hotels or 'fine dining' restaurants, most visitors find they spend more than they had planned once they discover the fabulous jewellery, folk art and pottery in the galleries and markets. In a country where many cities have begun to look and feel the same, Santa Fe has a distinct culture and flavour found nowhere else in the world.
